Most kids under a providers care are not even close to having costs covered by courts, counties, states, and other public agencies. So the system you use to track all of your critical information must be robust enough to handle all regulations and it must be able to make care givers more efficient. In the past it was much easier.Children would be placed at a residential facility and that facility took on the responsibility of caring and treating the child. After the child improved, he/she would be released back to the parents or guardian. All notes were handwritten and placed in the child's file. If that child came back to the agency later, the file would continue to grow and caseworkers would review that file to make sure historical information was taken into account for current treatments. It's not that way anymore.
And... a provider could have multiple public agency computer systems to log into - just to meet electronic requirements! With new methods of care that are continually introduced, new requirements for funding, grants that must be administered, and new state level systems that require even more administrative time... you soon realize that you cannot continue to operate efficiently if you do not leverage the right technology to help you. |
