I was reading an article today written by The Huffington Post that caught my attention. The article describes a new report written by The Annie E. Casey Foundation yesterday, a non-profit organization that advocates on behalf of "vulnerable children and families," - that ranks all 50 states according to 10 specific indicators that are meant to represent a scale to determine the overall well-being of a child. This is interesting material as measured on a state level. You can download the report here - 2011 KIDS COUNT Data Book.
