In remarks at the National Strategy Conference on Combating Child Exploitation, on March 17, 2011, in San Jose, CA, Deputy Attorney General James Cole outlined the Department of Justice’s approach to combating child exploitation. He highlighted a number of efforts including Project Safe Childhood, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s child victim identification program, and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force program. He also reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to collaborating with other agencies and organizations on this critical issue.

He said, “We are absolutely committed to the seamless coordination of the FBI, the Criminal Division, the U.S. Attorneys, the U.S. Marshals, and the ICAC task forces. We must rely on each other, on the unique skills and talent that all of you bring to this issue [of child exploitation] in order to eradicate it.”
